Rosewood (Blackwood tree) is a semi-evergreen tree, grows to 40-60 feet in height. It is native to India and Indonesia, also grown in other parts of tropical Africa and Asia as an ornamental plant.

Rosewood can vary from a golden brown to a deep purplish brown, with darker brown streaks. The wood darkens with age, usually becoming a deep brown.
