TKD-1 is commonly grown in colder regions of the country with it’s ability to thrive even in high rainfall areas.
TKD-1 Avocados are commercially cultivated in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka in the south-central India and in the eastern Himalayan state of Sikkim.
Appearance – Dark green in colour with a smooth glossy skin
Flesh type – fleshy with a buttery consistency and a rich, nutty flavour
Flesh colour – Green to yellow
Flesh taste – Rich and nuttier in flavour
Uses – alternate for mayonese in sandwishes and burgers; Juice; Fruit sorbet
