Description

Breadfruit is an attractive fast growing single-trunked tree with spreading, evergreen canopy, typically 40–50 ft tall. Breadfruit is found throughout the tropics distributed throughout the Caribbean to Central and South America, Africa, India, Southeast Asia.

Appearance – Smoothly to slightly bumpy or spiny

Fruit shape – Round, oval, or oblong

Colour – light green, yellowish-green, or yellow when mature

Flesh colour – creamy white or pale yellow

Flesh taste – Sweet, creamy

Uses – Vegetable, Fries, Chips, Flour etc.,

Health benefits – To treat skin ailments, diarrhea, stomach aches and dysentery

Others – Timber, Fuel wood, Craft wood/tools, Fiber/weaving/clothing
